January & February 2018

Well what a lazybones I have been over the past 2 1/2 months.  We left Florida February 1st and headed for Tucson AZ to one of our favorite State Parks in AZ, Catalina.  We spent a couple of weeks there hiking and soaking up the sun.  This year, unlike last, the coyotes were not as rampant.  Apparently it has been very dry and the ground squirrels were very late in exiting their dens so timing wise we missed the rush of the coyotes to snatch up the little critters.  The cats were happy too.

From there we headed to Lost Dutchman State Park in Apache Junction for another couple of weeks.  This is one of our favorite places but it is a little more remote than other SPs so we have more “quiet time” here than others.  We did a few hikes there, photo attached on the day that we hiked to the Basin, a milestone for us!
